The drive back to the mansion was silent except for the soft breaths of Jungkook, who had fallen asleep clutching his bunny plushie. His lips were slightly parted, and a small pout adorned his face. Taehyung's heart softened at the sight, but his eye twitched as he glanced at the plushie held tightly against Jungkook's chest.
Taehyung scowled internally. The plushie had been a rival ever since Jungkook dashed back to grab it from the couch, claiming it was his "cuddly mate." A cuddly mate? he scoffed No way. I'm your mate, Taehyung thought possessively, his grip on the steering wheel tightening. His next mission was clear: get rid of that ugly thing.
Pulling into the driveway, Taehyung parked and glanced over at his sleeping mate. Even in his sleep, Jungkook refused to let go of the plushie. With a dramatic roll of his eyes, Taehyung muttered, "You're going down, bunny."
He stepped out and carefully opened the passenger door. As he lifted Jungkook into his arms, the smaller boy instinctively snuggled closer, his nose brushing against Taehyung's chest. Taehyung's heart melted for a second—until he noticed the plushie still clutched tightly. He narrowed his eyes at the nonliving rival.
Carrying Jungkook through the front door, Taehyung ignored the curious glances from Namjoon, Jin, Jimin, Yoongi and Jhope who were waiting in the living room. Their worried eyes followed him, but he didn't stop. He had only one destination in mind: his room.
Once inside, he gently laid Jungkook on the bed, his heart swelling at how peaceful his mate looked. But then his eyes fell on it. The fucking plushie.
With a quiet growl, Taehyung pried it from Jungkook's arms. It was surprisingly difficult—his bun had an iron grip even in his sleep. Once freed, Taehyung tossed the plushie unceremoniously into the corner of the room.
"He doesn't need you, bitch. I'm here now," Taehyung muttered under his breath, glaring at the plushie as if it could understand him.
Jungkook stirred, a soft whine escaping his lips. "Bun?" Taehyung's voice softened immediately as Jungkook blinked his eyes open, still groggy.
"Why am I here?" Jungkook mumbled, sitting up and rubbing his eyes and lookig around . "I should go back to my room."
Taehyung gently pushed him back onto the pillows. "Baby, this is your room now. Our room." He cupped Jungkook's cheek, his thumb brushing against the soft skin.
Jungkook pouted, his sleepy eyes narrowing. "I'm still mad at you."
Taehyung chuckled and leaned down, planting a quick kiss on the pout. "Be mad all you want, Bun. But you're sleeping here tonight. Tomorrow, you can be mad at me all you like, okay?"
Jungkook, too tired to argue further, huffed and closed his eyes. Within seconds, he was back in dreamland. Taehyung smiled, slipping into bed beside him. He wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist, pulling him close, and nuzzled his nose into the crook of Jungkook's neck.
"Goodnight, my Bun," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to his neck before closing his eyes.
The Next Morning
Jungkook woke up, stretching his arms and blinking at the empty space beside him. Taehyung was gone.He blinked around the unfamiliar room, realizing where he was. Taehyung's room... our room now, he thought, cheeks tinged pink.
With a soft yawn, he got out of bed and wandered into the living room, where Jin and Jimin were enjoying their morning tea.
"Good morning, Kookie," Jimin greeted with a smile.
"Morning, Bunny," Jin added, his tone warm.
Jungkook gave them his signature bunny smile. "Good morning, Minnie-hyungie, good morning, pretty hyungie."
Jimin chuckled. "Did you and Taehyung patch things up?"
Jungkook's cheeks puffed out in a pout. "Nope. I'm still mad at him."
The two older wolves exchanged amused glances. "Where are you off to?" Jin asked as Jungkook turned toward the kitchen.
"To get my banana milk," Jungkook replied with a determined nod he padded towards the kitchen.
The kitchen was bustling as the maids prepared breakfast. Jungkook greeted them with a cheerful "Good morning, nonna!" before heading to the fridge. His steps faltered as he noticed something odd: there were now two fridges.
"Why is there another fridge?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
The maid shrugged. "It was here when we came in this morning, Your Highness."
Jungkook's curiosity got the better of him, and he opened the new fridge. His eyes widened, and his jaw dropped.
For a moment, Jungkook could only stare in awe, his eyes sparkling.
Minutes passed, but Jungkook didn't return. Jin and Jimin, growing curious, decided to check on him. They found him in the kitchen, standing in front of the fridge, his back to them.
"Bunny? What's taking so long?" Jimin asked.
No response.
Jin walked closer. "Kookie?"
Still nothing.
Finally, Jimin walked around to face Jungkook and followed his line of sight. His jaw dropped. "Oh my—"
The fridge in front of Jungkook was entirely stocked with banana milk. Every shelf, every compartment, packed tightly with the small cartons. Jungkook stood frozen, eyes wide and sparkling, his mouth slightly open in shock.
Jin let out a low whistle. "Wow. That's... a lot of banana milk."
Still no reaction from Jungkook. Jimin waved a hand in front of his face, and when that didn't work, he gently smacked Jungkook's arm.
Jungkook blinked rapidly, snapping out of his trance. "Hyungie!" he squeaked, clutching his chest dramatically. "Is this real? Or am I still dreaming? If it's a dream, don't wake me. Let me live here forever."
Jin chuckled and pointed to a small note attached to one of the cartons. "It's real, Bunny. And look, there's a note."
Jungkook's eyes lit up as he grabbed the note
"I think my Bun forgave me."
Jungkook let out an excited squeal, clutching the note to his chest. Grabbing a banana milk carton, he spun around and dashed out of the kitchen.
Taehyung had just walked in, his phone in hand, when he was suddenly tackled by a small, soft body. Instinctively, he caught Jungkook, steadying them both. Recognizing the scent, a smile tugged at his lips.
"So, does this mean my Bun forgave me?" Taehyung asked, his voice playful as he hugged Jungkook tightly.
Jungkook nodded, his face buried in Taehyung's chest. "Yes. But this is the last time! If you ever make me cry again, I'm not talking to you!" he warned, pulling back just enough to glare adorably.
Taehyung chuckled, lifting Jungkook effortlessly and carrying the kola to the couch. "Understood, baby. I'll never make you cry again."
Jungkook sipped his banana milk, still pouting slightly. "Good."
Taehyung leaned in, pressing a kiss to his temple. "You're mine, Bun. And no one else gets to make you smile like this."
But his thought suddenly went to Bunny Plushie
His mind raced, envisioning all the ways he could make the plushie disappear without Jungkook noticing. Maybe an "accidental" rip? Or a mysterious vanishing act... Taehyung smirked to himself. Either way, it's time for you to retire, bunny imposter. From now on, I'm the only one Jungkook cuddles. He smirked.
