1.Under the Blue Moon

Author Pov

The Blue Moon hung high above the city of Lunar, casting its rare, mystical glow across the sprawling kingdom. It was a night like no other—an event that only came once a year. Supernaturals from every corner of the world had gathered in Kim Castle for a grand celebration. The air was thick with excitement, the sweet smell of exotic flowers, and the tantalizing promise of indulgence. Every corner of the kingdom seemed to shine with anticipation, as the Blue Moon marked a night of reunion, of mates coming together, and of ties being strengthened.

Tonight, however, the moon was casting its light not just on lovers, but on longing. In the heart of the castle, the celebration was in full swing. Leaders of every faction—vampires, werewolves, witches, and fae—mingled with business tycoons and celebrities, all basking in the luxurious atmosphere. It was a world of wealth and power, where no expense was spared.

Opulent chandeliers twinkled above, and the clinking of glasses echoed like music through the marble halls.

At the center of it all, dressed in a bright pink shirt and tailored pants, stood Kim Seokjin. With his striking beauty and effortless grace, he was a force unto himself, and the guests couldn't help but stop and stare. It wasn't the first time Jin had drawn attention—it never was.

One of the guests, a man in a sharp suit, was so taken by Jin's presence that he couldn't help but blurt out, "Oh my god, Mr. Kim, you're looking so beautiful tonight!"

Jin didn't even flinch at the compliment. He smiled smugly, as if he'd heard it a thousand times before. He ran his fingers through his hair with exaggerated flair and responded, "Oh, I know. I'm beautiful, handsome, cute—all of the above. You could say I'm the World wide Handsome. No one in all of Lunar could possibly compare."

The guest was left stunned, unsure of whether to laugh or apologize, as Jin walked away with the confidence of someone who knew his worth—perhaps a little too well.Behind him, a whisper ran through the crowd.

"Don't you know who he is?" a voice asked, eyes wide with awe."No, who is he?" came the confused reply.

"That's Kim Seokjin," the whisperer said. "He's the older brother of the King."

As Jin made his way toward the far corner of the room, his eyes fell on the small group of people who were like family to him. His closest friends— Jimin, and Hoseok—stood chatting together, their camaraderie undeniable. They were brothers in spirit, bonded by years of service to King but more than that, they were a chosen family, supporting each other through everything.

"Looks like someone's been drawn to our Jin hyung," Hoseok chuckled, his eyes glinting mischievously as he watched the guest from earlier standing frozen in place, still caught in Jin's aura.

Jin smirked, making a dramatic turn to face them. "Oh, no one can resist my beauty. Honestly, I still can't believe how blessed Namjoon is to get me as his mate."

Jimin rolled his eyes, though a playful smile tugged at his lips. "What bad karma has he accumulated to deserve that?"

Jin raised an eyebrow, sensing the sarcasm in Jimin's tone. "Did you say something, Jimin?" he asked, his voice low and glaring.

Jimin immediately waved his hands. "No, no! I didn't say a word."

Hoseok, who had been enjoying the banter, looked at Jin who asked. "You're not with King tonight. That's a first. Why aren't you by his side?"

Hoseok sighed, his eyes softening for a moment. "I was given a break," he explained.

"If I don't get a breather, I think I might end up like him—like a robot. You don't understand how exhausting it is to always be at his side. I sometimes forget how to smile. My sunshine smile is in danger, man."

Jimin gave a dramatic sigh. "You two are practically joined at the hip. It's a wonder you're even letting him breathe tonight."Hoseok's expression turned a bit more somber. "Yeah, well... not everyone has found their mate, huh? I'm still waiting. But the King? He's locked in his own head. He doesn't even know how to smile anymore."

Jin glanced at his old friend, his expression softening further. "You're right, Hobi. Taehyung's been carrying the weight of everything, and he needs us. He just doesn't show it."

Before any of them could continue, a loud crash shattered the air, cutting through their conversation like a bolt of lightning. The sound of something fragile breaking—glass, ceramic—echoed across the room. Guests gasped in surprise, and all eyes turned toward the source of the noise.

A pink vase lay shattered on the ground, its delicate pieces scattered across the marble floor. Standing above the wreckage was none other than Namjoon, Jin's mate, his face pale with horror. His hands trembled as he looked at the broken remains of what was clearly something important to Jin.

Jimin was the first to speak, a grin tugging at his lips as he leaned towards Hoseok. "Someone's about to die tonight."

Jin's eyes narrowed as he made his way toward Namjoon. The room seemed to fall silent, every eye on them as Jin approached his mate, who stammered nervously.

"Baby, I—I didn't mean to! I was just talking with Mr. Kang, and then it—" Namjoon's voice cracked under the weight of his fear.

Jin paused for a moment, his expression shifting into something dangerous. He took a deep breath and smiled, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "It's okay, Joon," he said, his voice eerily calm. "It's not like it was my favorite vase, right?"

Namjoon swallowed hard, his throat dry, as the gravity of Jin's words sank in.Leaning in close, Jin's voice dropped to a whisper, a promise wrapped in menace. "You're dead."And then, just as quickly, Jin straightened up and turned to face the room, calling out, "Continue the party, everyone. Nothing to see here."

The guests, ever so polite, resumed their conversations, but the tension in the air lingered. Namjoon stood frozen, his face pale, trying to make sense of the playful but very real threat in Jin's words.

Elsewhere in the castle, another figure stood alone, deep in his thoughts. King Taehyung—ruler of Lunar, alpha of his pack, and yet, in this moment, utterly alone. The balcony he stood on was empty, save for the quiet hum of the night and the blue glow of the moon reflecting off his face.Yoongi had been looking for him all evening. The leaders had asked for Taehyung's presence, but he hadn't come. It wasn't unusual for the King to distance himself during such events, but Yoongi knew there was something deeper at play.

Stepping onto the balcony, Yoongi called out softly, "Taehyung."

The king's eyes flickered to him, but he said nothing, only continuing to stare at the moon. The silence stretched between them, thick with unspoken words.

"They've been asking for you," Yoongi pressed gently. "Why aren't you with the others?"

Taehyung's lips barely moved as he spoke. "It's not the first time I've skipped the Blue Moon celebration."

Yoongi exhaled, taking a step closer. "Taehyung, you shouldn't isolate yourself like this. It's not healthy. You know that. " He paused, unsure of how to continue.

Taehyung's lips twisted in a bitter smile. "I stopped hoping a long time ago, Yoongi. I stopped thinking I would ever find my mate.""Tae..." Yoongi's voice softened, but Taehyung raised a hand, silencing him.

"Leave, Yoongi. It's fine. I'm fine." The king's voice was quiet, but there was a finality to it.

Yoongi hesitated, then nodded, sensing the weight of Taehyung's words. As he turned to leave

"How much longer do I have to wait, Moongodess?" Taehyung asked, his voice cracking, the raw pain evident in his tone. "Am I really meant to be a mateless alpha? My wolf... I can't control him anymore. I can't do this alone."

A single tear slipped down Taehyung's cheek, his heart breaking as the weight of his loneliness washed over him.
